Money is the base layer of human coordination. It is not just an asset, a price, or a payment method. It is a language — the way individuals, businesses, and nations communicate where they believe value belongs.

I can hold multiple views at the same time.

First: Jeff Booth is right that the base layer of value is cracking. Technology wants to drive prices down. Fiat systems require prices, debt, and nominal growth to go up. AI accelerates that contradiction. If the next decade compresses a century of technological progress, then the monetary foundation underneath civilization matters more, not less. An airplane can survive small flaws at low altitude. At 35,000 feet, pressure exposes every weakness. As civilization accelerates into AI, automation, and exponential productivity, any crack in the monetary hull becomes existential.

Second: the infrastructure question is becoming a sovereignty question. Nations, institutions, and individuals increasingly recognize that dependence on a single settlement network, cloud stack, or payment rail is a concentration risk — not just financially, but operationally. Bitcoin's value here is not ideological. It is architectural: open, neutral, permissionless settlement that any counterparty can verify and any developer can build on. As AI accelerates commerce and cross-border capital flows, the settlement layer stops being a back-office detail and becomes a strategic asset.

Third: big-picture ideology only matters if it turns into execution. It is easy to become a keyboard warrior on Bitcoin Twitter. It is harder to touch grass, talk to real companies, understand real pain points, and help re-pipe the global transaction architecture one relationship, one integration, and one use case at a time.

That is where Lightning Labs becomes tangible for me.

Bitcoin is the bedrock. Lightning is the transaction rail. Taproot Assets can bring stablecoins and other assets onto Bitcoin-native infrastructure. L402 points toward a machine-payable web where AI agents, APIs, and autonomous software can transact without permission, accounts, card rails, or legacy billing systems. Remittances, global payments, merchant settlement, wallet infrastructure, AI-native commerce — these are not abstract ideas. They are the practical places where the thesis either becomes real or stays trapped in conference speeches and Twitter threads.

I believe Bitcoin is the most credible foundation for the next era of financial infrastructure because it is open, neutral, scarce, verifiable, and not controlled by any company or state. But conviction alone is not enough. The work is translating that foundation into products, partnerships, distribution, liquidity, and adoption.

That is the role I want to play.

Carrying out Lightning Labs' vision for the future of payments is a tangible way for me to act on everything I believe: Booth's warning about fiat entropy, Lowery's thesis around cyberspace and proof-of-work, and the urgent need to build real infrastructure before the world realizes how badly it needs it.

This is not about sounding right online. It is about helping institutions, builders, wallets, exchanges, merchants, remittance corridors, and eventually AI agents understand why Bitcoin-native rails are the strongest foundation available.
